Comments. The important test planned for Seremban Half
did not materialize. I got sick. Not real serious sick, but enough. If I ran 18.75k as planned, I could get into
the Two Hills Too Soon situation again.
So opted to rest. Sat pulse rate
up in the 70s, same as Sunday. Monday
was decidedly better, planned for 10k nonstop, but kaput at 7k. Looks like unable to run 10k nonstop since
adopting
Today’s run uneventful. Took lunch, but still carbs not high enough
to continue to 10k. Could be lack of
sleep previous night, or carry-over tiredness from illness recovery. Run started slow & progressed to steady
pace. Fastest was probably 2nd km. Timing was average. Breathing throughout was kind of
unsynchronized until after 3k. Legs felt
tired to the point of possibly cramping if continued to 10k at that pace. Even after 2 min walk rest, felt the same.
Seremban Half looms. I do not feel fit for it. Time will tell. Still have 5 days to recover. Plan another 7k run on Wednesday, which will
allow 3 days recovery for Seremban Half.
Anyhow, hotel all booked, courtesy wifey, and got discount somore, 175
IBM rate. Cool.
Plan for Seremban Half still
the same, 5:1
Characters At least 5 runners today.
Postrun:
Tuesday morning heart rate
doing 63 bpm at startup. At 2:40 pm
doing 68 bpm. Relatively recovered, I
should say. Conclude that lack sleep, tonight
will catch up for tomorrow’s 7k run.
