Alternative Healing and Hospice Care

I am a Reiki Master with the Usui System of Natural Healing, and I have been practicing since 1983. Linda is a level two practitioner. I would like to use Reiki with athletes during their training in order to help them relax, focus, and sharpen their edge for competition. Linda was interested in doing some volunteer work after we retired and moved here so we began working with the Mesilla Valley Hospice here in Las Cruces. Along with the patient care we provide, this year we also wrapped Christmas Gifts for Hospice at the local shopping mall. We really feel that because of the lives we have been given, it is up to us to give back some of what was so freely given to us. You can also find some information on the National Hospice Organization and the wonderful work that Hospice does for others.

In November of 2001 I was chosen by Mesilla Valley Hospice as the Spotlight Volunteer of the month.

In March of 2002 Linda was chosen by Mesilla Valley Hospice as the Spotlight Volunteer of the month and this photo is of her and her patient Betty playing a game of cards.

And in the Month of May of 2002, the Mesilla Valley Hospice Organization chose Linda as the Volunteer Of The Year and she was awarded the highly coveted.....

I was recently asked by the Volunteer Director to be one of the volunteers to take phone pledges for KRWG TV. We were able to take in a few thousand dollars in pledges for the PBS affiliate during the night while at the same time getting a lot of good publicity for Mesilla Valley Hospice and the work they are doing for the community.
