These quilts are truely the most unselfish act of compassion and love that I have ever heard of. Please read Chelsea's story and click on the links and help us to Promote and Support Lupus Awareness. Use my letters to send to your local quiltters groups, churches, fabric shops and newspapers. We can not do this alone, we need your help. It doesn't take but 5 mins. to help us make a difference.

More people have Lupus than AIDS, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and Leukemia COMBINED, but little is known about the cause or treatment because it is primarily a woman's disease. Lupus destroys the lives of women in their childbearing years. We need funding for research, we need our voices heard, we need your help. I can not beg you enough to send a letter, write a newspaper article, get us some squares.

If you are too ill to do this please ask a family member, tell your Rheumys and different Dr.'s you see.....they all have bulletin boards. We CAN AND WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS BEING WARRIORS IN FINDING A CAUSE AND A CURE but we can't do it alone, the missing key is YOU.

This is the first of the many Auto Immune disease quilts that are traveling the world. They were made with alot of love and compassion. Chelsea has devoted her time and talent to us with Lupus. When her daughter was diagnosed with Lupus she wanted to do something to help raise awareness so she came up with the idea of quilts just like the AID's quilts. Each sqaure stands for a person. It has their name on it, diagnosis date alot of times and sometimes something special they wanted to add.

Most of the squares on the quilts are donated by quilters groups, orginizations, and people along the way that quilt and found it in their hearts to help us out. Peg is now working on the Lupus Memorial quilts, they are for all the angels that have been lost to this terrible disease. SUFFERERS OF LUPUS IN GREAT NEED OF SUPPORT!!!
This is a letter I sent to my local newspaper here in town to ask them to do a story about the lupus quilts while I had them here for a local quilt show.
