yoga
Since ancient times people all over the world have been
excited by and benefited from ayurveda and yoga. Though it is
generally believed that both are one and the same, both are separate
branches of specialized science with distinctly different aims,
While ayurveda is an holistic medicinal science, yoga is primarily
developed for with the aim of obtaining moksha that is freedom from
the bondage of re-birth. Since the 8 steps leading to moksha contain
some procedures which are beneficial for the physical and mental
well-being of the person ayurveda has adopted these from ayurveda
and applied it to its aim of total health. The commonly known steps
which are famous world-wide are asanas (yogic postures), pranayam
(breathing exercises) and dhyan
(meditation).
