Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation
that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands".
The hands can be placed on the body or a few inches from it. The
technique is based on the idea that an unseen "life energy" flows
through us and causes us to live. "Life Energy" flows within the
physical body through pathways called chakras and meridians. It
also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura
This free and balanced flow of "Life Energy" is the cause of health.
It is "Life Energy" that emanates the physical organs and tissues
as it flows through them, nourishing and supporting their vital
functions. When the flow of "Life Energy" is disrupted, it causes
diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of
the physical body. Therefore, it is the disruption in the flow of
"Life Energy" that is the main cause of illness. When one's "Life
Energy" is low, it is more difficult to relax and to heal and we
are more likely to get sick. When it is high, we feel more confident
and capable and are less likely to become ill. Reiki is a technique
that restores the flow of "Life Energy" and also increases one's
supply.
Reiki is a technique that reduces stress and promotes healing.
It is simple, natural and safe. It has proven effective in helping
virtually every known illness and malady. It also helps heal the
emotional and psychological components of disease and creates peace
of mind. Reiki also works in conjunction with all other medical
or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Its non-invasive nature, based on human touch, always creates a
beneficial effect.
