Ever watched someone in a stressful situation, their face turns a deep red, their words stop making sense, and then you become the target for their hurtful comments! Some may take the stress out on themselves; nail biting or other self-inflicted damage, substance abuse ... On the other hand, have you seen someone who was cool, calm and collected throughout?

The difference between the two people is the way they handle their stress. The first one never knows what to do with it and then tries to make others feel as bad as they do. They haven't given their stress away! They've taken you along for the ride!

They remind me of a cartoon factory whistle. The whole whistle turns a deep red, begins to expand, and then it throws it's mouth wide and BLARES! The whistle is alerting us that "it's time!" Time to what? Leave work, lunch ... or time to deal with the stress?!

The person who never seems to be bothered with stress has learned some secrets. How to release it at an appropriate time. It is not that they have no stress, they just don't hang on to it.

There are many ways to handle stress: watch your nutrition, exercise often, balance work and play in your life.

If you view yourself as having a cup or container where you dump the stress until later. Similar to the garbage can in the kitchen. Eventually you need to take it out or you run into problems.
