A female age 77-years. Chronic hereditary hypertension.
Controlled on sustained action Nifedifine (Adalat orus 30) once a day morning and long acting selective beta blocker ( Atenelol 25) at bed time. Allergic to Aspirin had a mild stroke two years back, now alright. Developed irritant dry cough due to Beta Blocker (Bronchial spasm). Beta -blocker is essential for her, no relief from usual cough linctus, cough worse at night. She also suffered from chronic lumbar pains.
Her history was repoitrised according to Homeopathic method two Remedies were found for her. Bryonia (long acting )and Rumex (short acting) . She was given one dose of Bryonia 1 M which relieved her lumbar pain and cough immediately. She was prescribed Rumex 30 on alternate days for a week only for her cough. Now she can tolerate Beta Blocker without any side effect and Aspirin 50 three times a week. She is advised to take only Rumex whenever required
