January 17, 1998 - Cure of Stammering by Yoga

A 24 year old male, working as an engineer in a multinational came with a case of stammering. This speech defect had started when he was six years old and had not responded either to homeopathy or speech therapy. Treatment by a qualified psychiatrist and psychotherapist for three years led to no improvement.

Through the Yoga Relaxation Techinique it was discovered that when he was six he had seen a square hole in the wall which had frightened him. By coincidence his father has transfered to another town the next day. This little incident was long forgotten and he started stammering in a few days.

The following yogic theraphy was given to him:-

• Chanting of the word \(OM) in a systematic way for fifteen minutes twice a day.
• Recitation of a Sanskrit prayer twice a day.
• Relaxation Yogic Technique twice a week.
• Bhraamari Praanaayaama for five minutes thrice every day.

The patient can now speak normally.
