OUR HAWAII ADVENTURE, WHALE WATCHING, MARCH 1999

We were lucky enough to be traveling in Hawaii during the same period that the Humpback whales are. We bought our tickets for a *guaranteed* whale watching cruise, and were eager to get out on the ocean. After spending almost an hour bouncing on the waves, we were about to give up. Then the shout came. "Whale spout at the 1:00 position!" We jumped up with our cameras in hand to see the mighty whales. And believe me, this is no easy task. Trying to keep your balance as the boat turns, and the people are swarming to your part of the boat, and then focus a camera! We only saw a couple of whales, but it was a thrilling site. And I have to say, our captain gave us a great deal of information on the humpback whales.
