Security, Safety and Privacy
or, "How Do I Know You're Not Going to Rape or Kill Me?"
That's a very good question. I always encourage models to be aware of their personal privacy and security.
I am as concerned about privacy and security as anyone, that is why my phone number and address do not appear on this web-site (I will supply it to you on request). I have the same concerns for the models that I work with. This world is in many ways scarier for women than men, especially so here on the internet. For all of the benefits and advantages the internet has created, it has created an equal number of problems. The following sections describe the ways that I help protect the privacy and security of the models I hire.
Your personal information:
Any personal information you give to me via this website, on a model release or
in conversation will be held in the strictest confidence. The computer on which
information you submit is password protected so that even if it is stolen it
would be hard for someone to read anything about you.
I will not refer you to any other photographers without your consent, and if I do it will be up to you to take the first step to contact the interested photographer. Under no circumstance will I give anyone any of your personal information -- not your name, not phone, not e-mail address, nothing.
At the photo shoot:
I know you are here for one reason and one reason only -- to work and get paid.
I am here for one reason as well -- to create beautiful photographs of you and
to try out some new photographic techniques, either on the set or later in the
darkroom. There are never any surprises at my shoots because everything is
always agreed upon prior to a single exposure being made.
Your limits will absolutely be adhered to. If you applied for a shoot with me and stated up front that you would only pose in lingerie or if you tell me that you will only go as far as topless, then that's it -- no questions asked. On my sets you are a respected professional. Your limits are your limits.
If you're smart, you're concerned about unwanted sexual advances as well. In this profession you're more open to this type of thing than most people, and if you've been doing this for any length of time, it's probably safe to say that you've had your fair share. You're a model, no doubt very pretty, and your job is to spend time in the nude with photographers. An interesting combination of "occupational hazards." I promise you that absolutely nothing "out of line" will take place on my sets or at my locations. The greatest risk to your safety or health at one of my sessions would be the drive to the location. Nothing I can write here, however, can absolutely convince you that I'm "on the up-and-up," so if you're still considering working with me, please contact me by e-mail, ask to speak with me on the phone, and ask me any questions you wish. If all that doesn't quell your fears enough to move forward to meet for an audition, then maybe this isn't for you, and we shouldn't move forward.
Your online portfolio:
At this time I am offering each of the models I work with an online portfolio on
my website. You will have control over which photos get posted to that portfolio
and what information accompanies them. If you wish to be listed on the internet
under an alias or an assumed name for some extra privacy, let me know and I'll
be happy to use it on your portfolio page.
