The Reading Terminal Market has policies that must be considered when planning an event. To lessen your work, the Director of Special Events is prepared to help handle every aspect of your event planning.
Dates Available
The Market is available any evening or all day Sunday. Exceptions are the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before Easter, the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and December 23, 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
Event Hours
The Market is open to the public until 6 PM Monday through Saturday. Events can be scheduled from 7:30 PM on Monday through Saturday and anytime during Sunday.
Rental Fee
The fee for renting the Market for 1,000 guests or less is $2,000, and the fee for renting the Market for more than 1,000 guests is $2,500, and includes maintenance and security.
Market Capacity
The Market can hold formal sit-down dinners for 50 to 350 people, cocktail receptions for up to 2,500, and large-scale parties for up to 4,000. Separate dance floors can be accomodated in the Market's 80,000 square feet.
Should the number of expected guests change, making the designated space inappropriate, the Market reserves the right to reassign the space accordingly, to assure the quality and comfort of the event.
Reservation Policies
The Market requires a $2,000 deposit payable to the Reading Terminal Market Merchants' Catering Company, two weeks after signing a rental agreement.
Refund Policy
To cancel an event, we must receive notice at least 12 months prior to the event. You will receive a refund of your deposit, less 10%. If notice of cancellationis received within 8 months of the event, your deposit is refunded less 25%. If notice of cancellation is received within 6 months of the event, your deposit is refunded less 50%. If notice of cancellation is recieved within 90 days, no refund can be issued.
Services Provided
Through the Director of Special Events, we can provided full service planning and management for your event, including decorating, service staff, entertainment, and coordination services.
Entry and Exit
Access and egress are designated by Market Security, in recognition of your needs. The market complies with ADA requirements.
Parking
Parking is available immediately adjacent to the Market. Valet parking services can be arranged through Kinney Systems at (215) 922-9314.
Deliveries
Event deliveries and post-event pick-ups are permitted at the Market's loading dock. All deliveries and pick-ups must be coordinated beforehand with the Director of Special Events.
Thirty working days prior to an event, the Director of Special Events will contact you to finalize your plans. At that time, a final guest attendance count must be furnished, as well as any request for additional services.
