Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whsikey Sauce I

Ingredients:

PUDDING:

2 cups milk
4 cups coarse bread crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs slightly beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 seedless raisins
1 tsp cinnamon

SAUCE:

1 stick butter or margarine
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup whiskey

FOR SAUCE:
Cook butter and sugar together in a double boiler until mixture is very hot, thick, and sugar dissolved. Add egg quickly and beat. Cool slightly and add whiskey. Serve hot or cold over pudding.

FOR PUDDING:
Scald milk and pour over bread crumbs. Cool and add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into a 1 1/2 qt casserole. Place casserole in pan of hot water (1 inch deep) and bake a 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until a silver knife inserted into pudding comes out clean.
