Recipe from the Holy Ghost Parish Cookbook, 1972.

Ingredients:

3 cups white sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup light corn syrup
2 egg whites

Place sugar, syrup and water in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until dissolved and cook slowly until crystals are dissolved. Boil until 248F. Remove from heat and beat egg whites until stiff. Pour syrup over egg whites, beating mixture until mixture holds shape; add vanilla and beat with spoon until it loses it's gloss. Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.
