Popcorn Balls

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
8 quarts popcorn, popped
Food coloring if desired

Boil sugar, syrup and butter to 248F or to thread stage. Pour syrup over popped popcorn; mix thoroughly. Mold into balls with hands moistened in cold water. Makes 15 balls. For a variation, divide the syrup into various bowls and add a few drops of various food colorings mix well. Separate the popcorn into individual bowls and pour on the syrup and form as above.
