This piece of lace will form one of four insertions of a table cloth. The completed tablecloth will measure 1.20 meters square. The fabric will be of linen and will feature drawn threadwork and four triangular lace insertions.
I obtained the pattern for the table cloth in the September 1993 issue of a German magazine titled "Anna".
The first insertion took me approximately six months to complete.
I have worked the lace in 35/3 'Bouc' linen thread. The lace consists mainly of russian braid, sewings plaits with picots and leaves. You will notice that the flowers have double leafstitch petals. One petal worked toward the centre of the flower and the overlapping petal worked toward the outside of the flower.
