Children are the anchors
that hold a mother to life.
Thank you God, for everything-the big things and the small,
For "every good gift comes from God"- the Giver of them all-
And all too often we accept without any thanks or praise
The gifts God sends as blessings each day in many ways-
First, thank you for the little things that often come our way,
The things we take for granted but don't mention when we pray,
Then, thank you for the "miracles" we are much too blind to see,
And give us new awareness of our many gifts from Thee,
And help us to remember that the key to Life and Living
Is to make each prayer a prayer of thanks and every day Thanksgiving.

Once upon a time, there was a child ready to be born.
He asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow.
How am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you.
She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
"But tell me; here in heaven, I don't do anything but sing and smile.
That's enough for me to be happy," the child said.
"Your angel will sing and smile for you every day. And you will
feel your angel's love and be happy," God answered.
"How will I understand when people talk to me if I don't know
the language they speak?" asked the child.
"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will
ever hear. And with much patience and care, your angel will teach
you how to speak," God explained.
The child replied, "And how will I talk to you?"
God answered, "Your angel will place your hands together
and will teach you how to pray."
"I've heard there are bad people on earth," the child said in a
timid voice. "Who will protect me?"
God reassured him, "Your angel will protect you even if it means
risking its own life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore,"
said the child.
"Your angel will talk to you about me and will teach you the way to
come back to me," God said.
At that moment there was much peace in heaven, but voices from
earth could already be heard.
In a hurry, the child asked, "Oh God, if I am about to leave now,
please tell me my angel's name?"
God smiled and answered, "Your angel's name is of no importance.
You will simply call her Mommy."
