Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 ounce red food color
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 cup milk
For the Frosting:
4 cups powdered sugar
12 oz. package of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
For the top: Red Sprinkle Sugar
Mix eggs and oil well, add dry ingredients, mix well then add 1 cup milk mixed with 1 teaspoon vinegar,add the food color and vanilla, mix well. Bake in two greased round cake pans at 350 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out dry.
Frosting: Mix together all the ingredients and smooth onto cold cake, let sit until stiff, sprinkle with red sugar.
This is a Christmas tradition in my family, Really sickingly delicious and it gets better with age. The perfect way to eat it is at midnight when it's two days old with a tall glass of whole milk!
