Sam Dudek |
March 23, 1974 -- that was the day Ted and Mina Dudek greeted their first child, Serafim Thaddeus Dudek. On that cold and windy Saturday, Sam was born in Trenton, Michigan at Riverside Hospital at 1:11 a.m. During his 18 years in Riverview, Michigan, he attended Forest Elementary, Seitz Junior High, and Riverview High School. Also during that time, Sam spent time as a paper boy for the Detroit News (although he is a loyal reader of the Detroit Free Press), a bagger at the A&P, and a clerk in the medical records department at Wyandotte Hospital. In 1992, he entered the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Besides earning bachelors degrees in Communications and English, Sam met his future wife Cindy Fenton at the Big Ten school. He moved to Chicago after graduating in 1996, and married Cindy on March 15, 2002. After serving in various marketing positions from 1997 to 2002, Sam returned to school and earned his Master's Degree in Education from DePaul University in 2004. During that time he worked for State Farm Insurance. He is now a English teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. His interests include reading, computer programming/gaming, bowling, and going for walks along Lake Michigan with his dog, Homer. |
