Miscellaneous Notes
In short - four well made wines from three continents showing what can be achieved for a modest sum of money.

Fetzer's Pinot is a good example of what can be done with the Californinan Pinot Noir. It does not have the extreme jaminess that sometimes is found in American Pinots. It does have a quite firm backbone and structure. Very nice indeed.

C.J. Pasks Merlot - Many of us thought that this one was a Bordeaux - very wrong geographically but quite right regarding nose and palate. Better p/p-ratio than a Bordeaux in the same price range. Also a very nice wine.

The Kalimna was the disappointment of the evening - not because it was a bad wine but because it has given so much pleasure in the past that this bottle couldn't live up to. Maybe the Kalimna is in a dark phase of its life cycle?

The Gravello was the most personal wine of the evening. Mature (but probably still with some potential) with flavors from herbs and spices. A very good wine.
