Miscellaneous Notes
The last organised tasting before the new Millenium! A great tasting organised by Harriet and Lasse. First three interesting white wines from different regions of France and after that four nice red wines from Bordeaux.
The Whites
At last, yours truly managed to get all the wines (more or less...) correct. I even succeeded in pinpointing the Rochemorin! That about that. The nose of the Sancerre was huge and filled with exotic fruits (for a while I thought it might be a New Zeelander...). On the palate the exotic fruits returned but was complemented with citrus notes. The nose of the Poilly-Fuisse was quite restrained but pear and lemon was found. The taste confirmed this; it will probably need some time to develop further. Lurton's Rochemorin tasted like - well - a Bordeaux from Lurton! Well made and always enjoyable.
The Reds
I didn't manage as well with these as I did with the red... Of course luck must end to early!
The best wine of these were the 1993 Lynch-Bages; Filled with fruit and accompanied with sweet oak.
