Baked Beans

Use your favorite bottled barbecue sauce for this recipe.

2 16-ounce cans pork and beans in tomato sauce
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 medium tart apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 2 cups)
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
3 slices bacon, crisp-cooked, drained and crumbled

In a 1-1/2-quart casserole combine the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple, and onion.

Bake the bean mixture in the casserole, uncovered, in a 350 degree F. oven for 60 to 70 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and of desired consistency, stirring once or twice. Top with crumbled bacon. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
