Linder & Brock's Musical Influences
One of the groups that Steve and
Bruce have considered as having an influence in their writing is The Eagles.
Steve says that especially in "Broken Wing" he strove for a powerful
delivery much like The Eagles "Take It To The Limit".
While they are always looking at
marketability when chosing songs they just can't ignore ones that come
from the heart. This is the case with "Believe Me I Tried" and
"Fear Nothing"
In concert Linder & Brock enjoy
performing a crowd pleasing medley of "Monkees" tunes and Steve
admits to being a huge fan of "The Monkees". The group also does
many Classic Rock numbers. These songs range from the likes of "The
Beatles", "Elvis", "Credence ClearWater Revival"
and "Frankie Valle and The Four Seasons". Move up a few years
and you have songs like "Play That Funky Music", "Venus"
& "Baker Street". Add a few more years and you'll find "Love
Is Strange" and "Unchained Melody" both from movie scores.
From the country scene no one sings
Collin Rayes "Little Rock" or "Desperado" by The Eagles
with as much emotion as Steve Linder. Bruce Brock does the best renditions
of "Neon Moon" and "Little Less Talk And A lot More Action"
that I have ever heard. Their fans won't let them forget "Fast Movin'
Train" or "Friends In Low Places".
Recently with the addition of Stephanie
Green to the group you will hear them doing a medley of "Gloria Estefan"
tunes. Her voice also adds a nice dimension to the bands other country
originals like "I Don't Feel A Thang (if it aint got that twang)",
a cheeky song written from the perspective of a cowboy that likes his country
music the old fashioned way.
