Around June 23 or 24, Woody Guthrie returned to New York after completing a month-long songwriting stint for the Bonneville Power Administration. He headed directly to the Almanac House, the Twelfth Street loft where Seeger, Hays and Lampell lived. The trio welcomed Guthrie warmly, and recruited him for their third Keynote session....
Bernay rushed the record into print while "Talking Union" was still in production.
