"Double J" Jeff Jarrett vs. Vader
Intercontinental Title Match

Date: Taped - April 8, 1997; Aired - April 10, 1997

Card: Thursday Night Titans

Site: Fleet Center; Boston, Mass.

Vader and I had been tight for months before this. On Monday Night Raw that week, I announced to the world that on June 1st I'd be leaving the WWF to persue my Hollywood career. Jim Cornette wasn't too happy about that, and came down to tell me about it. A situation erupted and before I knew it, Vader was attackin' me from behind.

Vader was to defend against The Blizzard, but the Blizzard ran his mouth about Roddy Piper and the WWF, and adding that to his losing in under a minute to a headlock from Corey Major, he got the shot yanked away. After Vader's attack, Piper gave me the shot for the WWF's new show.

I went in against my former friend who'd left me laying, knowing that I'd already given the WWF my notice... and wouldn't you know it, I won the title! The I/C belt was mine! Winning the title was great, but beating Vader was just as nice. We were hardly done fighting here, though.

Thursday Night Titans became Tuesday Night Titans the next week, but on the only edition of the Thursday show, I'd defeated my rival and captured the gold. And to me, TNT will always be MY show!

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett vs. Vader
Chamber of Horrors Match

Date: May 31, 1997

Card: WWF Superstars Revenge

Site: The Mecca; Milwaukee, Wisconsin

In my opinion, this was THE biggest match of my career. I left the WWF on June 1st, so this was literally my final chance to settle the score with Vader. Since our match above, Vader had won the WWF title from Psycho Sid, and I'd dropped the I/C belt to the Warrior. But our feud still raged on, despite the titles and things in the way.

Cornette made the challenge to a match inside a Thunderdome Cage with no rules, the Chamber of Horrors match. I accepted, and the match headlined a special edition of WWF Superstars called Superstars Revenge. The weight of the world was on my shoulders. If I lost... I go to Hollywood with the knowledge that I'd fallen to Vader eating at me every day.

Vader was ready for a fight, but I had lady luck with me. He went for it all, and I managed to get away... then wrapped on the Figure Four. A few moments later, the WWF Champion was completely out, and I'd been declared the winner.

Now I hear Jim Cornette doesn't seem to remember this match, but I'll never forget it. I beat my most hated rival, I beat the WWF Champion, and I showed the WORLD that Double J is GREATER than GREAT!
