Family & Friends,
You have got
to read the following short article(link to actual article in
title)---Alexander Cockburn, the author, is no conservative, he
is liberal, but he is one of the only reporters who is exposing
this. After you read this, tell me that you are not
outraged also!
Alexander Cockburn for the New York
Press --
Another Freebie for the Clintons
It looks as though well
all be footing the bill for the Clintons place in
Chappaqua, purchased by the First Couple for $1.7 million when
Hillary had to demonstrate her New York roots. The Secret Service
needs a place on the property to house its agents, and the
Clintons have been so good as to make available a structure for
their bodyguards. By an amazing coincidence the rent matches the
monthly mortgage payment for the entire property.
You can count
on the same kind of antics being done in Washington for their multi-million
dollar home there also. (Kelly we probably drove by
their house when we went on our exploration of Washington, DC---it
is located not too far from the hotel that we stayed in.)
This is something that I think needs to be looked into.
President Jimmy Carter was on TV a couple of nights ago and he
was saying that when he left office, his brother Billy had run up
about a $1 million debt down in Georgia at his peanut business
for him. He said he went home to GA and paid off his debt
and commenced to make a living again in the private sector--but
he did not line his pockets on the way out of Washington with
political hand-outs and underhanded ways of getting the
government to pay his bills. Just goes to show that
conservatives don't have a lock on the ability to be honest and
act respectably. Why doesn't the media pay attention when
good men speak out. If a politician is doing something
shady, I want to know about it and I want the press to expose and
investigate it--whether the politician is Democrat, Republican,
Independent or otherwise! How do we fix this? I am
not certain, but I am trying.
Also, don't believe the
spin you are hearing about "deregulation" of the
power companies causing all the power problems in California.
Power companies were only deregulated in the amount that they
could "pay" for power and the amount they could charge
the consumer was "frozen". The power
companies were also "deregulated" by a massive amount
of environmental and other "directives" by the
government. This is what has happened in California.
If you want to see how well "deregulation" and the free-market
can work and work very well, look at the state of Pennysylvania.
They are paying some of the lowest energy costs in the nation and
getting some of the best service and choice of service that
can be had in the entire nation. Of course, this is not
reported in the media.
