It all started five years ago, when my
granddaughter and I went to watch a high school
rodeo. Jessica, now out of high school, said to me,
"Grandma I want to do that." I told her, "Okay, we
will!"
She was the first of the grandchildren to join.
Now two other grandchildren belong: Tasha for 3 years
and Nathan just starting this year. I do all the
hauling and own the horses they use. We travel many
miles, in all kinds of weather. Sometimes, it takes 7
hrs. to reach our destination for our rodeo weekend.
We have nothing fancy, camp and cook out wherever
we rodeo. The biggest and most gratifying thing is we
get to be together, and have a lot of fun doing what
we love doing best.
Rodeo Grandma, is what I am known as with the Pa.
High
School Rodeo Assn. This is because my grandchildren
participate in the Pa. Rodeo Assn.
