When you visit the farm you will see all
shades, sizes, different breeds and different
personalties of horses. Something for everyone.
My horses are my love, as well as my hobby.
I have had horses all my life, well most of my life anyway.
I do many events with horses.
TEAM PENNING. This is where a team of three riders chase 3 cattle into a pen, with a time limit of 30 seconds. All in fun!
FUN SHOWS. I only do the fun shows which entail games on horseback.
TRAIL RIDING. I must admit this is my favorite! I enjoy going on my horse, mostly in groups, on a long 3-5 hr. trail ride almost anywhere. We sometimes get a little lost in dense wooded areas or high on mountain tops, but without fear. If we cannot decide how to get back, we give our horses the chance to take us home.
OVER NIGHT CAMP OUTS. I pack up my horse, find a place to camp and stay for the weekend with horses, friends, kids and a great camp fire.
TRAINING. I train both kids and horses. I really enjoy the kids.
I am a 4-H horse and pony leader, so kids are very much a part of my life. I also board horses and take my grandchildren to shows and rodeo.
INTRODUCTION TO HORSES.
"CODY" is a 27 year old Quarter Horse standing 15.3 hands high, weighing 975 lbs. He is a chestnut with a star, strip and snip for facial markings. He is my favorite to ride! Cody can be slow or fast, whatever you want. He will give his best that he can give. He has a very nice disposition and is wonderful with children. Died 2004
He has been on the rodeo circuit, shows and many trail rides, as well as a team penner.
"DESTANY" is a 22 year old Quarter/Arab standing 13.3 hands high, weighing 787 lbs. Destany is a chestnut, with a blaze for a facial marking. She has two white stockings on her hind legs. A very versatile horse with a lot of energy, Destany would rather go fast than slow. She is great for almost any type of riding. She can jump 2.3 feet fences without a problem. She has been shown in both English and Western. She has done the rodeo circuit, trail riding and team penning.
"LUKE" is a 20 year old Appoloosa. Standing 14.3 hands high, weighing 857 lbs., he has liver color markings. Luke is great with children. He is kind of head strong, but gives in if you keep after him. Wonderful for trail riding, he does not like to do anything alone. He has been shown in Western Pleasure classes and team penning.
"MANDY" is a 30 year old gaited horse, Morgan/Quarter Horse. She stands 14.2 hands high and weighs 800 lbs. She is a very small framed horse. Bay color, with a star facial marking, Mandy is a real child's horse. She is very laid back, easy going and sure footed. She does not have a lot of speed. She was a 4-H Pleasure show horse for years. She is great at the pole bending events, team penning and trail riding. She still gets used for the younger children. Do not let her age fool you, she still can keep up with the younger horses. Died March 25, 2000
"IVAN HOE", is a Welsh Pony, 29 years old, standing 12.2 hands high, weighing 757 lbs. He is a buckskin. Ivan is an excellent show pony. He does it all for the show ring: English, Western and cart. He likes to be the leader on trail rides, and loves the mares. He stands his ground with the other horses.
"TRIPLESROLLINROCK" called WHISKY, is a 3 1/2 yr. old registered stock breed Paint. He is bay color with a star. He stands 16 hands high, weighing almost 1000 lbs. He has very large build. He is a quiet, easy going horse. He mostly has been on trail rides and pleasure showing as well as halter classes, but he soon will be a team roping horse. Because he is so young, he will do the heeling part in the team.
"APACHE WAR CLOUD" called PATCH is 15.3 hands high, 12 years old. He is a Paint/Arab horse. He is mostly bay, with white patches. He has a very large frame, weighing almost 1000 lbs. Patch is easy going most of the time, but he does get his moments! He has mostly been used for trail ride and Pleasure shows. Children also ride him.
"STREAKER'S ODYSSEY" called Odyssey, is a registered 1/2 Quarter Horse, 1/4 Arab. He is 1 1/2 years old, "Destany's foal". He stands 15 hands high, weighing over 800 lbs. He is a chestnut color with a star, strip, snip, facial markings. He has two white stockings on hind legs and two white socks on front. He is a real beauty! He has a blocky, frame like the old Quarter Horse type. He is a real lover, and I can do anything with him. Clip, bath, trailer, and he has even worn the saddle and bridle. He is a very obedient horse and tolerates everything that I have done with him so far. I raised him from day one. He is too young to ride, but was shown at halter and did very well.
"RAIN DROP"- P.O.A.(PONY OF AMERICA) an Appoloosa pony with liver markings, standing 13 hands high, weighing 757 lbs. A little chubby! He is a 9 year old. So far we have only gone on trail rides with him, because, he is a new comer to our farm. I do want to teach him to pull cart. He is a very stocky pony, with a very large neck. He has a Pony disposition.
