When I left my house on September 20 to head to Greensboro, NC for another Dixie Chicks concert, I had no idea that this would be one of the greatest experiences of my life. You know we had met them last weekend in Columbia, SC and I thought nothing would top that, but this day definetly did! Of course the concert was awesome and the chicks were way cool when we met them, but I have to say that the highlight of the day was seeing them at the hotel before the concert! We really saw them at the hotel! We had no idea that they were there. We were meeting our friend at the hotel in Greensboro, and we were in the lobby waiting for him, when who walks in? Martie! She must have been working out or something cuz she had on a tank top and stretch pants, and a hat and sunglasses..(she probably thought no one would recognize her) Anyway, we were chilling in the lobby, and I looked over there and saw this lady waiting in line to talk to the lady at the front desk. I really didn't pay her much attention, but my friend saw her and she kinda whispered to me "Hey, that's that's that's that's that's Ma...Ma....Ma...Martie!" I think she knew that we knew who she was, and she jetted out of the lobby! So, I go running after her, and we yelled her name and she turned around for a second but she just kept walking. Then, we went walking around the hotel to see if we could see any more chicks and we walk by the weight room and guess who was in there working out? Emily! My friends were like, "Let's go in there!!" I told them that we shouldn't, so we didnt...We waited for her to come out so that we could try and talk to her, but DAG! those Erwin girls can speed walk! So we just hung out in the lobby until it was time for us to go to the concert...
Ok, the concert was awesome of course. They sang all of the songs that they sang the last weekend in Columbia and a couple that they didn't sing last weekend. Natalie had the crowd going wild! The security guys wouldn't let anyone stand up during the concert, so Natalie told us to rebel! We did, and by the last song, the entire arena was jammed up against the stage! It was awesome! I swear I almost got pushed up under the stage! Emily even reached out into the crowd and almost got pulled in! Natalie threw a handful of guitar pics out into the crowd and people were fighting for their lives! (OK, not really, but it seemed like it. It was crazy!)And when they threw their feather boas out, it just made it worse! It was definetly the best concert that I have ever been too! I can't wait to go to another one!
