WHAT'S THE TCMA GONNA' DO FOR ME?
"That should be the number one question on a person's mind when they hear about our association. In a tough music business where scams and tricks run amuck, being a part of a young, growing, reputable and independent music association is not only refreshing, but encouraging." These are the words of Peggy Franck, Founder and CEO of the Tennessee Country Music Association.
"The Tennessee Country Music Association, under the umbrella of the NACMAI, is a non-profit country music association organized to assist in the promotion, showcasing, and education of the independent country music performer. The TCMA networks itself with reputable companies and individuals who set high standards for their career objectives. Instead of giving each performer a fish, we simply teach them how to catch their own. No one in the music business who gets cheated, can say they fell prey because they had been taught too much "knowledge" about the business.
There is so much about the biz to learn including the legal, financial and management side. In this day and time, just having talent, looks and charisma is not enough! A performer must insure that his or her best interests are top priority and that means through learning by reading books, talking to other successful individuals, networking with successful people and attending as many workshops, seminars and conferences related to the music biz as possible. This is where the TCMA and NACMAI can help!
We provide the performers with showcasing opportunities where their talent can be witnessed by important industry personnel. The TCMA also provides workshops, seminars and conferences where learning is priority one. These events will occur at different intervals each year. Also, the NACMAI will conduct it's second competition, Hall of Fame, Awards Show and expedition in early 1999. This event opens up excellent networking and showcasing opportunities. A few of our nominees opened doors of success for themselves in 1998 by merely showcasing in front of industry personnel. This year will prove to be larger with more industry companies becoming involved.
Networking is one of the most important components to success in this business. Without the meeting of minds, there can be no music business. Deals are only made between performers who go after networking and showcasing opportunities. No one ever landed a deal by sitting at home in front of the television.
The TCMA coordinates success-oriented activities for it's membership, which means a whole lot in this competitive industry. The TCMA is proud to be a part of a national association with the same high-standard goals in mind."
