what is internetmalta?

It is internetmalta's belief that the Internet is most significant revolution in the dissemination, discussion and creation of information and in communications ever - bringing together under one, easy to access medium all the forms of mass and personal media. The Internet is also a foundry of ideas and opportunities which need to be sifted in order to be made available in a more easy to digest manner.

internetmalta is an ongoing project aimed at providing Internet users in Malta and elsewhere a resource centre of information, support and activity aimed at making their surfing experience as flawless and as fulfilling as possible.

It is the belief of internetmalta that it is through inter-user association and support that most of the stumbling blocks encountered by new and experienced users alike can be overcome since the lone Internet user is not always capable to represent his issues forcefully and rarely has the possibility of influencing ISPs' or the relevant authorities' stance on the Internet.

This service also aims at stimulating the discussion off-air of the Internet in order to promote the use of the Internet by business, households, students and the public sector. There are substantial misconceptions as there are individuals and organisations underplaying the opportunites opened by the Internet. It is internetmalta's belief that well-informed users result in a more informed perceptions on the Internet by society at large.

internetmalta believes in the right to access the Internet as important as any other fundamental human right. It also promotes the availability of the Internet under more favourable conditions to the disabled, senior citizens and tertiary level students.

internetmalta is a free, non-partisan, non profitmaking enterprise aimed at propulgating the strategic planification of the Internet through multi-disiplinary synergies between the various interested parties - whether private or public, whether large or small.

Furthermore, the Opinions Section should be read in order to be updated from time to time on internetmalta's policy stance on diverse matters which may arise from time to time.
