The obvious first choice for that was, of course, the Eiffel Tower. (I mean if there is one monument in the world that everybody knows and has seen on a picture, it is this one. And on plus of that I live very close to it). One sunny day, I asked one of my TG friends from our association ABC if he/she would be willing to come with me in 'male mode'. This was because I think there is nothing more natural as having a man and a woman together, nobody will try to chat you up (your 'taken' already) nobody gives you a second look. He agreed and we met not far from the place de Trocadéro (he in trousers and I in a skirt). I actually did profit from that occasion to buy a new wig in a store close by, but this is another story how to buy things.
After the shop, and with my new wig on my head, we went, quite naturally, to the panoramic platform behind the Place du Trocadéro. It was a nice sunny day and there must have been about 1000 tourist on that place, and (it is every time again as exciting as astonishing for me), nobody seemed to realise what was going on. Of course, at least 75% of the people are so occupied with their own business that they don't really 'see' the people around them, even when they 'look' at them.
Anyway we took a couple of photos, standing
or sitting
for that last photo a lady came standing right next to me so close that she touched me to get her photo taken by somebody else. I cut the picture not to embarras her if ever she comes across this page.
After that I felt so well and confident in my 'role', that I proposed to go and have a glass. We went to a café close by and sat outside on one of these tables Parisian cafés typically have on the sidewalks in summer. The waiter first gave me a questioning look, and for the rest of the time treated me as a woman. I will never know if he decided I was female or if he just was polite to play the game (maybe he had seen it all before).
To end that trip I had to get some make-uo remover before going home (I new that before I started my dressing up and could easily have bought it before, but used this fact to 'force me' to buy it whilst en femme. Still together with my friend we went to a department store, and when I payed at the cashier I had the right for a merci Madame, au revoir! This made me so happy that turned around and ran into a lady standing behind me, almost falling over her.
The whole trip was a lot of fun and I decided to get as many of these tourist photos done as I can. In the next episode more tourism (in Canada) you can see some more pictures and read about their story.
here is a short (but not complete) list of other sites where I would like to get Béatrices photo:
