The Source of My Strength



You must think me such a child...

Prancing about shouting hallelujah
one minute,
and looking away the next...

You must be so disappointed...
I don't have the faith to move mountains-

It's never been a matter of believing-
just an uncontrollable fear
of letting go.
(You would call it a lack of trust...)

But I fall to my knees,
and come to you in tears,
in awe of your perfectness
and yearning for more...

Your love is the source of my strength,
Your strength is the source of my courage.

I want to trust you,
sight unseen...
I want to know no fear
to do your will...

I'm standing on new legs,
a foal just barely birthed,
but my eyes are lifted up,
and my heart has opened full.
Open my ears that I may

and let my lips never cease
