Brief itinerary of my trip in July of 98

I departed Sea-Tac Airport on July 2 at 11:40 a.m. Pacific time.

This is a view of the wing of the Boeing 767 which took me from Seattle to St. Louis over some unknown body of water. Pretty nice picture though - ay?

I arrived on Charles De Gaulle International Airport at 10:30 a.m. Paris time.

I stayed in Paris for one day (very tired - fell asleep in a shopping mall in the Louvre at a cafe) and left the next morning for Normandy where my cousin Nicholas was getting married. I stayed there until the afternoon of the 5th, when I departed again for Paris where I had a wonderful dinner with my Godparents. The next evening, I departed on a night train for Saint Maxime where I stayed with my Aunt Yvette and her two grandchildren Lea and Tom. I stayed in Saint Maxime until the night of the last World Cup (or Coupe De Monde) game - the night of the 12th. France won!! and there was mass histeria and partying on the streets of the Champs-Elysees. I arrived in Paris the next morning on the 13th where I was able to stay with my friends Alexandre and Guilliam Valin. Here I had a wild time going to Discotheques and celebrating Bastille Day. After a day or so recovering from the festivities, I attended Guilliam's Graduation Ceremony where I had a fabulous time at the ceremony, reception, dinner, and night at the discotheque where I met a very wonderful girl. Marta was nice enough to show me around Paris for a few days. Next, I went to Normandy to visit with my very good friends - the Valin Family. Here I was treated like a king with Champagne breakfasts, vintage wines, and great hospitality. During my stay in Normandy, I had the opportunity to go to a horse race where I sat in the VIP section and even won a few bucks (only after losing a few). After the stay in Normandy, I headed back for Paris where I spent the last few days of my vacation visiting more of my relatives, friends, and trying to cram in as many sights as I could see! One tourist trap that I absolutely had to see was Jim Morrison's grave and the Arc De Triomphe. They were both awesome sites to see. On my last full day there, I had lunch with my cousin Manu, and dinner with my cousin Arnau and his new wife Stephanie. Unfortunately, with all of the wine I drank on the last night there, I forgot to get a picture of my cousin Arnau and Stephanie. I really had a great time in France and will definitely be back. I would like to thank all of those that helped make my stay a very pleasant one and hope that you can come visit me here in Seattle one day!
