Our story starts...

Jeanette looking down

At the beginning of August, Jeanette was heading towards Edward William Forester's house. He was a university professor that taught a night course about creative writing in the summers. Jeanette had first attended his class when she was 15, and had been a faithful student of his ever since.

She was excited about a new short story she had written and wanted to share it with him. She had not seen him since late June, for she had gone away to Mexico with her gang for a month. When she arrived at this grand old house in the rich part of old Toronto, there were an unusual amount of cars in the driveway. She was about to leave, thinking they were having a party, when she noticed Helen Forester exiting the house.

"Mrs. Forester, good afternoon." Jeanette approached the professor's kind wife.

"Jeanette, it's been a while darling." Mrs. Forester kissed Jeanette.

"Are you alright?" Jeanette finally noticed the tears in her eyes.

To Jeannette horror, Helen Forester informed Jeanette of the professors passing away. It was about a week ago, he had a heart attack, and at his advanced age his body could not take it any longer. Helen informed Jeanette that her presence was requested at the will reading, which was in two days.

Jeanette was unsure of why she would be requested to come, but of course she was not about to refuse Mrs. Forester.

The will Reading...

The will reading was starting and Jeanette was sitting quietly next to Helen, as Her two sons sat on the other side of her.

The lawyer proceeded in announcing whom shall inherit what. To Jeanette's surprise, Mr. Forester was a very wealthy man. He had several businesses which were divided equally between in wife and this two sons. For his wife he gave soul ownership to the mansion they lived in and each one of his sons got the other two mansions he own in Toronto. The last item really shocked Jeanette most of all. Mr. Forester gave real ownership of a residential loft building in downtown Toronto. The had two floors only. The first floor had to very large lofts which had tenants in it already at the bargain price of $4000 a month each. The top floor housed on extremely large loft. One half of the loft was cut off in two floors, with a balcony from the second floor to look over the bottom part of the loft. It had 5 bedrooms on the top floor and the bottom floor was one big open space. It was fully furnished, and empty. The Lawyer told Renee it should go for around $8000 a month if she wished to rent it out.

William Edward Forester, the eldest son was the only one to object to this. "How could father do this? Mother, I demand that you consent this."

"Oh be quiet William! I see nothing wrong with Jeanette owning that, you are extremely rich, what do you need with a small loft building?" Jonathan, their youngest son voiced his opinion.

"I agree with John." Mrs. Forester informed everyone. "We have no need of this place, and Jeanette had been nothing but a ray of sunshine to us, I think she deserves it."

"I'm very honoured, but really, I don't need such an extravagant gift." Jeanette finally found her voice.

"Nonsense, you will take it, and that is that." Mrs. Forester smiled at her.

The Loft

For the next while, Jeanette was torn about what to do with this place. The money she would be receiving monthly would be wonderful to give to her parents and for her school expenses. After much debating, Jeanette finally came up with an idea. She asked her friends to move in with her to the top loft. Each would be closer to school, and they didn't have to pay rent, yet enjoy living on their own.

The only person to not agree to this was Cecilia, she had just agreed to move into an apartment with 2 other women from school. Margarita and Krista where still to young to be out on their own, so Jeanette, Auriana, Cindy, Monicka and Adrian moved into the loft, just in time for the start of school.

The End of the Introduction.
