The Assembly of the Three Representative Bodies has formed in an attempt to mediate the conflicts between the people and the aristocracy. Many of Robespierre's students gather masses of people at the central plaza to express their opinions regarding their social and economic status. This how Andre meets once again with Bernard Chatelet (the Black Knight) as he gives out a speech.
Andre and Bernard return to Bernard's home in Paris where Andre finds to his surprise that Rosalie has married Bernard. Together, Rosalie and Bernard, work on the revolutionary efforts led by Robespierre.
"How is Lady Oscar, Andre?"
"She's the the same old Oscar, she hasn't changed a bit. She has been transfered to the military, but she's doing fine."
Rosalie goes off to work, leaving Bernard and Andre alone. Bernard takes this opportunity to ask Andre to join in their efforts to bring about France's liberation. Bernard knows very well that Andre sides with the people, and is astonished by the fact that Andre refuses his offer.
Meanwhile, in the other side of Paris, Price Joseph's health continues to get worst with every passing day. Oscar goes to visit him at the palace and later takes him on a horse ride.
All that excitement exhausted Prince Joseph. As Oscar and him rest by the river, Prince Joseph kisses Oscar in the mouth:
"Oscar, please wait for me. Next time, I'll be born as a strong man . . . until then, wait for me."
To make things worst, von Fersen realizes that he no longer can be with Marie Antoniette. He realizes the wall that separates them is much stronger than their love, so he decides to return to Sweeden.
It's been six months since the death of Diana, Alain's sister, but he's finally back. He decided to return in part because of the opening of the Assembly that would take place tomorrow. Alain strongly believes that this would mark the beginning of a new era in the history of France.
The day has arrived. Oscar and the B regiment are assigned to ensure that all opening events and that the parade march as smoothly as possible. Members of the Three Bodies: the king, the nobility and the people would assemble together to discuss what is to become of France.
One thing that was not accounted for, was that the formation of this assembly would represent a direct attack against Marie Antoniette, whom the people blame for all of France's misfortunes.
A month has passed since the Assembly opened up to the hearings. In one ocassion, Oscar finds a bottle of liquor outside the Parliament building. She demands that the bottle should be removed immediately and Andre volunteers for the job.
Oscar throws him the bottle, but right at that moment, Andre's eyesight fails and he misses to catch it. Alain runs to the rescue:
"We have been under the sun for too long. You must be exhausted, Andre."
"Yeah, you're right Alain!"
Oscar is shocked! She can not help to notice that something wrong is going on and she worries.
Later that night, at the Jarjayes' Mansion, the stormy night brings a sign that Prince Joseph's death may be near. As Oscar and Andre talk, she pulls out a knife and aproaches him.
Oscar stands before him, holding the knife, but Andre manages to see it and proves Oscar that nothing is wrong with his eyes.
Suddenly, the Notre Dame bells begin to ring-- Prince Joseph has died.
Days and nights continue to pass by, but the members of the assembly do not seem to come to any agreement. This means that Oscar and her subordinates must continue to maintain order, working to the point of exhaustion.
"Andre, haven't you noticed lately how pale is our commander?"
"Don't worry Alain, she must be tired, that's all."
But what Andre doesn't know is that Oscar is sick. She has been coughing blood, and she fears she may die soon.
Violence and resentment have filled the parliament. Loius XVI fears an uprising and orders the assembly to be closed down.
Following his wishes, General Builet orders Oscar to close down all the entrances to the parliament building and forbid the entry to all those who are not directly invited by their majesty.
Oscar resents her orders and demands to know why have they come up with such decison. But eventually, she is forced to carry out her orders, blocking the entrance of the people's representatives to the building.
Full of anger, the people left to "Jue de Pong," where they assembled and carried out their discussions as if they were gathered at the assembly.
To her surprise, the following day, Oscar finds that General Builet has assigned someone else to be in charge of monitoring the entrance to the Assembly: only members of the nobility and the clergy are allowed into the building by the front door. Others should go in by the back door only if the king decides so.
Oscar can not believe what she is hearing. She grabs this man by the collar and hits him. Then, she orders her men to open up all entrances to the building and allow the people's representatives in. She does so to prevent any more violence.
When Louis XVI finds out that all the people are inside the building, he decides to disolve the assembly and orders everyone to leave the building because there is nothing more to do in there. Most members of the nobility and the clergy left after Louis XVI ordered so, but the people's representatives who accounted for more than 65% of the parliament remained inside.
General Builet is notified of the events and orders Oscar and her subordinates to report to him immediately. When they arrive at the quarters, General Builet demands to know why Oscar violated his orders. She would be arrested and taken to Court Martial unless she follows his new orders of taking her troop and remove the people from the building.
"You have authorization to open-fire if necessary!"
But Oscar refuses. She is then arrested and accused of high treason against the king of France. General Builet leaves the room and decides to takes action in his own hands. Andre, who was waiting outside the room, wonders what has happened to Oscar.
From the window, Oscar witnesses how her men refuse to take orders from General Builet.
"We only follow orders from our commander . . . Oscar!" Alain replies.
General Builet can not believe it. He arrests twelve of Oscar's subordinates and returns to the room where Oscar is held captive. Then he informs Oscar that her men have been arrested and would be later executed, and that he has sent the Empirial Guards to take control of the situation. (Remember that Girodelle is now in charge of the Empirial Guards.)
After General Builet leaves the room, Oscar tries to escape. As she struggles with the soldiers, she calls out for Andre who is waiting outside. Once again without a doubt, Andre rescues Oscar and they managed to escape.
Together, they set out to prevent the Empirial Guards from taking action against the people.
The Empirial Guards, under the command of Girodelle, were about to attack the people when Oscar and Andre arrived to prevent a massacre:
"If you are going to harm this people , you'll have to pass over my dead body first!" Oscar cries.
Oscar and Girodelle look silently at each other for a brief moment, and then he puts away his sword.
He could never hurt Oscar because he loves her so dearly. Then, he orders his troop to retreat and they leave.
