I was born Meagan Michelle, (which I remain) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January, 1978. All my life, I lived in Wintersville, Ohio. No, you probably don't know where it is! Suffice it to say, it's right by Steubenville-- no, that didn't help either. (sigh) HERE then.
I have two younger brothers, Henry Joe and Albert. They're pretty cool. At least, now they are. My parents, Henry and Lesley, are easier to get along with now, too.(Hmm, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that they all live in Florida now, and I only get to see them a few times a year? ...Nah...) I enjoy all types of art media, and I love a new challenge: portraiture, jewelrymaking, calligraphy, stampcarving, mosaic, sculpture, and lately Lucite carving keep me alive from day to day. That's not counting all the odds and ends I make for gifts! I'm still not sure where my career is going to take me, but I hope to accumulate the experience and schooling necessary to enter into interior design at some point in the future years. For now, I'm taking things easy with a blah-blah-blah retail job, and saving up while I plan my wedding.
My fiance, Greg, is from Chicago. We've been together for nearly two years already; we met at Capital when I pledged to Alpha Phi Omega. He's an impossibly and fantastically great guy, and I doubt he'll ever have a website or care too much about the fact that I have one, but he's still great. More about him somewhere else around here.
I have a lot of friends in different places, and most of my best friends have links on my Yellow Brick Road.
I've known Brian S. since I was 5 years old, and though we haven't exactly been best friends that whole time, he's been one of the greatest people in my life. We've played house together, solved problems together, laughed together, captained the Academic Team together, and even now that we're so far apart I cherish his friendship dearly. I'll be proud to have a wonderful, electric guy like Brian standing second in line behind me at my wedding.
Christena R. is my closest female friend; I don't seem to make too many of those, I wonder why? At any rate, she really helped me get my life untangled in high school, even though untangling some things meant REALLY tangling up other things. I owe a lot to her--spontaneity, confidence, alcohol tolerance, you name it. I know that we'll be friends no matter what happens. She certainly deserves to be my maid of honor, and I can't wait to be her matron of honor when she ties the knot with Pete.
Jara D....hmmm... I haven't talked to this chick in a while, but she's a real sweetheart. Talented, exuberant, cute as a button and understanding. I wish I had met her earlier than my last years of highschool... I think we could have gotten really close. I look forward to getting back in touch with her this year, while she's attending Carnegie Mellon University. Good luck, babe; I know you'll end up on Broadway!
When I first got to Capital, I met Bethany H., and we've been friends ever since. We've been through everything together! Including men: Beth married Sean H. last summer, the same guy I was engaged to briefly a few years ago. Yes, it sounds strange, but you really just had to be there. I love her SO much and I'm really happy for both of them!
After Greg and I got together, I met his friend Christopher V., and very shortly I was hooked. I really enjoy talking, writing and spending time with him, and I already consider him one of my very good friends.
I've been the personal masseuse of Aaron E. ever since we stormed the Conservatory together freshman year, and he's been my personal fairy. But old, old jokes aside, I know that as far away as we may go, Aaron and I will be friends till we're ancient. He's kind, sweet, supportive, and always busy-- but those few special times every year that we can spend quiet time together and share our thoughts are worth every bit of phone tag. What a wonderful friend. :)
I've been caught! How could I be so callous as to forget to mention Shawna K., who is just the sweetest thing in the world?!? I just know that she would never forget me. I met her through Beth H., who met her by accident, in one of those soap-opera plots that seemed to be so common in our circles a few years ago. We were bridesmaids together, and I look back on all our female bonding with great fondness. She lives all the way out in Pennsylvania, but she rocks!
And, as always, happy animated hellos from Bun-Bun the Mini-Lop!
