Maple Runner

This is the runner that I made for Kevin and Chandra's wedding, October 19, 2002. They asked me to weave a piece to be used as an altar cloth during the wedding and a runner afterwards. Japanese maple trees, red in October, are being used instead of flowers during the ceremony, and burgundy is a favorite color for Chandra. The stucture is turned summer and winter, and I painted one layer of warp while it was on the loom. This is the first piece off my new 24-shaft AVL.
