BIOGRAPHY
Peter was born in East Prussia about 1770. To get a perspective of the times; in America it was the time of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and pre Revolutionary War period. Peter was a young man when the French Revolution began in 1789 followed by the Napoleonic Era. Napolean was the "Hitler" of the 19th century; he had Europe in turmoil from 1804 until his defeat by the Duke of Wellington in 1815.
Napoleans' Army moved through their territory with 600,000 men to conquer Russia. In those days an army literally lived off the land (they carried no C & K rations). Families had high taxes to pay, and were prohibited from acquiring more land for their growing number of young people because of their belief in non-resistance.
