In 1998 I traveled to the Saarbrucken University in Germany and located Dr. Ottfried Neubecker's Grosses Wappen-Bilder Lexikon der Burgerlichen Geschlechter, published in Battenberg 1985, containing a picture of the above crest. The scanned pages from that book are here. The name associated with the picture was Schimmer. Interestingly, Daniel Scheimer's son James, after the Revolutionary War, was granted land west of Cumberland, Maryland in Allegany County. On the list of land grants, his name is spelled James Schimmer.
