Cappy is my best friend, as you know, and I've known her since I was 7; that makes us friends for 15 years! WOW! I hope she will not be insulted that I've put her under "IRC FRIENDS" section, but I am truly grateful to her for introducing me to the wonders of IRC, eventhough it can be a source of heartache at times. I wish to use this opportunity to say,"THANK YOU BUDDY, FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE FOR ME!!!"
It is really amazing that we have gone to the same schools: Qifa Primary, River Valley High, and finally, National Junior College. I've even briefly considered going to her uni, Uni Of Birmingham! Funny thing is, we sort of lost touch completely in high school, running into each other only a couple of times, I think. Since she is 1 year older than me, she was in other classes, and even different sessions (ie.morning or afternoon). However, 1 morning, when I was on my way to college and was crossing the overhead bridge, I heard someone shout, "Meiling, how come you are notin VJC?" (I did French till 'O' Levels, and in S'pore, only VictoriaJ unior College--VJC--offers French at 'A'Levels) That was not when we "reunited"; it happened when she, the NJC Ang Klung president, pulled me to her booth at the fair to sign up for memebrship :) My other classmates chickened out, so I went alone. What happened next is what I'd call history.
We discovered we had lots of similar interests, the main being an addiction to so-called trashy romantic novels! We used to meet up after school or ang klung practices, so that we could go on a pilgrimage to "Sunny Bookstore" in Orchard to buy books hehe... those were the good old days when we'd exchange the books we have, so much so that our classmates would tease us, accusing us of "trading in pornographic literature" *LOL!*
We almost did everything together then,be it shopping or watching movies. A common dream to further our studies in the UK also strengthened our friendship, and I am glad that at least she gets to realise her dream...*All the best buddy!*
Right now,Cappy is the proud holder of a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (2nd Lower honours) degree from the University of Birmingham (Big Ham for short! Hehe) You could say through her,I experience student life in the UK vicariously. It is really so much more fun there. She described in details all the friends she has made, her holiday trips to Cornwall, Edinburgh, Warwick, Nottingham etc, bringing them all to me. I'm truly grateful buddy! She has the chance to do "notti" stuffs too, like going to the naughty "exotic dance" that is really a male strip-tease! Oh my! *Blush* haha! Once she went for a 2-day stay with a local British family; it is an exchange programme for foreign students to experience how local families celebrate X'mas. How lovely :) It was like a scene right out of a historical romance!
Cappy is actually short for "Cappuccino". It's because of her that I'm using "Espresso" hehe... *Copy cat I know you'd call me!* Being a Gemini,I think she really displays typical qualities of her star sign. She is very bubbly kind of girl and communicates really well. She is popular with everyone who knows her, and it is no trouble for her when it comes to making friends. I really admire this quality of hers :) I can say I'm closer to her than I amto my own sister, my flesh and blood... she knows more about me and understands more than my sister does! We really try to be there for each other whenever we can, but it can be tough since she is busy with her work, and soon I'll be joining the work force soon. But I must say in my time of need,I can always count on her to be there. I always pour out my grievances and joy with nice, thick fat letters hehe...when I was in a most difficult time of my life, she made a long trunk call to me! *I'm very grateful to you my dear, you never know how much strength that phonecall gave me...*
I wish her a successful career and a fulfilling love life too! ;)
