This is a recipe my children have prepared many times.
They just beam with pride when we all sit
down to dinner that they have prepared.
Easy slow-cooked Roast
1 roast beef that weighs about three pounds
2 cans cream of mushroom soup (fat free)
1 package dry lipton onion soup mix
4 potatoes, peeled and cut in half
4 carrots, peeled and cut in half
1 onion, sliced
Add the potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker
Put the roast into the slow cooker on top of the vegetables.
Sprinkle the package of onion soup mix over the roast.
Open the cans of mushroom soup. Pour the soup over the roast.
Add the sliced onion to the slow cooker
Put the lid on the slow cooker
Set the slow cooker to 'low' and let it cook for 6-7 hours till the
roast is tender.
***Notes: We have a big slow cooker so we add 6 - 8 potatoes
and more carrots to the slow cooker. Adjust to meet your own needs *smile*
Easy oven Roast
To cook in an oven, put the roast into a roaster with a lid. Sprinkle with onion soup
then spread the mushroom soup over the roast.
Add the potatoes, carrots, and onion to the pan about
two hour after the roast goes into the oven.
**If you don't have a roaster with a lid
then use an oven safe pan and cover it with foil.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 3 hours.
***SAFETY NOTE*** This is a family favorite recipe my kids use. Depending on the age of your
children you may need to supervise around the hot oven/slow cooker. AND Use safe food
handling/clean up.
