A Warm Welcome

The Washington Branch of the RSCDS is proud to announce the 11th Annual Capital Weekend at the National Cathedral School, April 5-7, 2002. Come to A Capital Weekend where you will meet old friends and new! We can get acquainted at Friday's Welcome Dance as we dance to the lively music of Millbrae (Dave Wiesler on piano, with National Scottish Fiddle Champion Hanneke Cassel, and Terry Traub on accordion)! Our guest teachers, Sinclair Barbour & Elinor MacKenzie Vandegrift are
sure to inspire even the weariest feet bright and early on Saturday as they teach to the irresistible music of Hanneke Cassel, Dave Wiesler, & Terry Traub, our class musicians!
Rest and enjoy lunch, then you are invited to review the more challenging aspects of the evening's program at the Ball Review.
The crown jewel of the weekend, The Capital Ball, will begin with a Reception and a Grand March to the peerless piping of Dan Emery. Following this grand introduction is a full evening of dancing to the incredible sound of The Music Makars! Afterwards, the strong at heart can continue their evening's enjoyment at the 'Afters Party'.
The weekend comes to a close on Sunday mid-morning with a delightful potluck Brunch as we take time to reminisce & say our good byes. New this year is a special Musician's Class with Hanneke Cassel during the brunch!
