Welcome to the Powder KegWelcome to the Powder Keg Anyhow, a little about my own firearms history. I remember shooting with the Cub Scouts when I was 12 and we took a Hunter Safety Course which I thought was cool.Here is the patch I received for taking it.
After that I really never got to shoot until I joined The Marine Corps. Then I got to shoot alot! LOL I never really appreciated how much they let us shoot until I was just about out and then I couldn't get enough.
Once I got out of the Corps I became self defense oriented when my wifes friend left our house and returned a few minutes later saying she thought that there was a burgular at her house. She asked me to come check it out but I was a little apprehensive going to a house I didn't know unarmed against someone I didn't know. I told her to call the police but she didn't want the house to be empty and look like a fool. So anyhow, she goes to a bar and gets a "large" friend of hers to take her home and sure enough someone had been there and left tracks in the snow outside her window. So anyhow I felt like such a coward and so completely helpless. That was when my quest began. As the saying goes, "God created man, Sam Colt made them equal."
After that my interest turned to guns in general. My father in law and I began plinking with some of his guns that he hadn't shot for years and from there on I had the bug. Well there is a little about me and my interest in guns. There will be more on each page so I hope you enjoy my pages on guns.
