Seaplanes

The Arado Ar 196 was the standard seaplane on all the capital ships of the Kriegsmarine. Its main mission was to provide light air cover for the ships and do reconnaissance job or serve as gun observer.
The Arado Ar 231 was a small seaplane designed and developed to be stored in and launched by a submarine. The Ar 231 could be folded and stored in a watertight compartment. Its performance, however, was seriously limited by its size.
