Ragnar LodbrokRagnar Lodbrock lived from around 735-794. He was a great viking warrior. His life is more of a fantasy than it is true. His father was Sigurd Ring, who became King of Denmark at age 15. Ragnar is the father of very famous sons. Thay are Ivar the Boneless, Ubbe, Bjorn Ironside, and Sigurd. Ragnar is very legendary. It is said he was jealous of the accomplishments of his sons, so he set out to get more fame for himself. Ragnar was eventually caught by the Anglo-Saxon king Aella, and he was then cast into a pit of snakes. Before he died he said, "How the piglets would grunt if they knew the plight of the bore." And the piglets, his sons, did grunt. What they did to King Aella is too gross to put in this site, but if you email me I'll tell you. He is also mentioned marrying the daughter of the legends Siegfried and Brunhild. |
