LSM 22 along with LSM's 18-19-20-21-23-24, known as Group Four, First group of LSM's to be shipped over to the Pacific. The info above with the picture of LSM 18 (our flagship) is in error, as far as the Leyte invasion. The date should read Oct. 20, of

I served aboard four LSM's. The Australian Army purchased them from the USN(Japan) in 1959. I cannot remember the original numbers but one - AV1354 "BRUDENELL WHITE" was LSM 477. Weoperated them for 11 years, mainly in the SW Pacific but we also had one o
