I turned my sights toward the NAVY during my senior year of high school. I didn't regret it! In fact, my History teacher, a retired COMMANDER, U.S.NAVY had a profound influence on me. I learned a tremendous amount about life, our Nation, and the never-ending responsibility of our military's goal of safeguarding our values. It was an honor as a young man to associate with committed, sacrificing, professional people from all walks of life. A sailor was faced with dual challenges, which encompassed his military obligation, and confronting a natural power which was going to sea. The purpose of this web site, is to honor all who have served on the USS ADROIT, the NAVY and of course all our men and women in uniform. This web site is available to ADROIT and other minesweeper sailors who want to share some of their experiences.
