Sniper's M16A3
Base rifle is the TM M16 A2, ZEKE M4 metal body kit, Systema Full Tune
Up Kit M130, 9.6v 1700mAh battery, TN 6.04mm barrel, FIRST front sight
mount base, KM M4 front sling mount, TM M4 scope mount base S II S 3-12
x 40mm A.O. airsoft sniper scope, FIRST sniper camo wrap, KM M16 sling,
and KM silencer. I've had the gun for about 8 months and have been upgrading
it myself in my spare time. I also modified the selector to only fire in
semi-auto only because I don't believe in full auto sniper rifles. I went
with the M130 kit because not only of durability concerns, but also that
too much power will actually hurt your accuracy. This is the best balance
between the 2 that I have found. The gun weighs in at over 12 pounds. Sniper
rifles are heavy to add more stability which aids accuracy. Light rifles
are good for carrying all day, but you do notice that they "float" around
more, especially after running around which raises heart rate/intensity
and breathing. I have not actually hung up paper targets and took measurements
on groupings, but I do know that I can place every BB in my magazine in
the area of a paper plate at 80 paces (I am 6' 2", 36" inseam). The 6.04mm
barrel really helped the consistent accuracy and increased my velocity
by about 10%. It does make the hop up more touchy though. I purchased a
airsoft specific sniper scope for the reason that it is made for the shorter
ranges of airguns. When I switch power settings, the target doesn't become
blurry and the adjustable objective (A.O.) has lower range settings. It
starts at 50 feet and goes to 150 yards. Real steel scopes may be nicer,
but they don't work quite as well as the airsoft scopes. The KM silencer
does a good job of muffling the the air "pop" but the upgraded mechabox
does make quite a bit of noise. We play in some thick foliage so the flora
and rustling noises cover up the single shot. The FIRST sniper wrap does
an excellent job of camouflaging the gun and breaking up the outline. The
gun is virtually invisible and it also helps dampen any vibration noises.
Most of my shots are from about 50 paces due to the playing area's thick
vegetation. My longest shot was 90 paces, and was a 1 shot deal.
