The Captain Went Down To Maneuvering

This is a song written by me a long time ago. Sung to the tune Devil Went Down To Georgia (Charlie Daniels Band,) I wrote this when a guy on my first boat was caust radioing log readings. What struck me as funny was that two officers discussed whether or not to turn him in. They were wondering if they wanted him to stay or get thrown out. They decided to turn him in so he would get booted. I guess he didn't spend enough time on his knees.

The Captain Went Down To Maneuvering

The captain went down to maneuvering. He was looking for a crow to steal.
He was in a bind cause he was way behind and he was willin to make a deal.
When he came across the rover takin his logs and takin them right,
then the captain jumped on the RO's chair and said, "That reading aint in sight!"

"I bet you didn't know it but I was rover qualified too,
and if you care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
Now you take pretty good logs Bowen, but give the captain his due.
I'll bet a pen of gold against your crow cause I think I'm better than you.

The rover said, "My name's Bowen and it might not be right,
but I'll take your bet I'm gonna regret cause that log reading aint in sight."

Bowen you pull out your black pen and take your logs right,
cause the captain's in maneuvering and he's got you in his sights.
And if you win you get that shiny pen all made of gold,
but if you lose the captain gets your crow.

The captain pulled out his gold pen and said, "I'll start this show."
Fire blew from his finger tips as the ink began to flow.
As he stroked the pen across the page it made an evil hiss.
Then a band of O-gangers bounded in and it sounded something like this...

This is where you would make ass smootching sounds cause that's what O-gangers have to do to get ahead in today's Navy.
