Calli Victoria

Lady Midnight

The cat count at the Wright House now totals A BUNCH!! Our first cat was Sir Wally and he was joined by Cheyenne Autumn and Silvermyst. This is all the cats we "planned" to have. The best laid plans,etc.... The next cats were three ferals who adopted the bad yard. They were very wild. We put out some food and, as the kittens grew, and the possibility of other pregnancies loomed, we trapped them, gentled them and they are all now spayed. Next we took in two babies from a co-worker of Meowmie. Since moving to the "country" in Oklahoma, we added Punkin, Hobo, Max, Natasha, Onyx and Smokey. Hobo went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2006.

Below is the baby kitten abandoned in the dumpster. The first pic is when she came here and the second in May of 2001. We lost Stormi in May of 2004 due to an adverse reaction to a flea medication.

A timetable of our "progress" with the cats.

October 16, 2000
The first of the wild ferals was captured, placed in a Condo. Calli Victoria was tamed first, by October 31.
Later, in 2002, when we moved to Oklahoma, Calli and her sister Midnight and mom Carolina got their own larger condo and resided together. Both Carolina and Midnight have gone to the Bridge. We lost Midnight in 2008.

November 7, 2000
The Black was captured, taken to the vet to determine the sex and is now a spayed female called Lady Midnight. She also resided inside the house...these critters took over one bedroom.

In the country in Oklahoma, Midnight decided to "escape" and roam outside but she soon came back and wanted to stay inside.

November 10, 2000
Another baby has joined the menagerie! Meowmie found a tiny baby kitty buried under carpet in a dumpster during a storm. This little one was named "Stormi" and spoiled fast!

December 6, 2000
Lady Midnight became quite gentle and could be picked up, held and petted. She remained a bit "shy" but does not claw or bite. The mom cat can be touched but still does allow herself to be held. She was "wild" the longest so this was actually natural.

As of 2004, mom (Carolina) is totally gentle and loves petting.

UPDATE - January 10, 2001
All kitties remain inside out of the cold and continue to SPOIL!

Stormi kept growing and had a HUGE appetite, probably a result of nearly starving in the dumpster. Calli Victoria demanded constant cuddling and Lady Midnight was almost as bad. Mom cat *grin* still hisses but has decided she likes the back of her neck scratched!

February 26, 2001
(Mom) Carolina Kitty, as she was named, was spayed. She was reasonably good...allowed us to place her in the cat carrier. Came home groggy but did OK! As noted above, she became a gentle lovey lady.

We lost the wonderful Carolina on May 30, 2006.

Palomino...former "front
porch" cat..now inside!

Palomino had been eating meals at the Wright house for a long time. Then he was injured in a cat fight and our vet indicated he needed some TLC to survive...so he became Number Eight at that time! He has since gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

Below are Chinook and Jesse James. As of April 2006 they will be 5 years old. They were born to a wild stray who adopted the back porch of a friend for a delivery room. Their mom was a beautiful Calico. There were three other kitties in the litter. Jesse is a BIG cat and most beautiful, Chinook is a fatty now.
